Announcement: On to 2025!

Yesterday, I formally announced on Facebook that I am officially kicking off my reelection campaign for Treasurer of the City of North Chicago.

Over the past two and a half years, it has been a distinct honor to serve as our City Treasurer. Together, we have achieved significant milestones and financial successes that have positively impacted the fiscal health of our beloved city. From implementing innovative financial strategies to fostering transparency in financial reporting, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that North Chicago thrives economically.

Some of my accomplishments as City Treasurer include:

• Brought the City into compliance with our US Department of Justice and Department of Treasury Asset forfeiture filings after three years of missed reports.
• Ensured City compliance with our PCII Certification, which had not been in compliance since 2017.
• Initiated an online web portal on the city’s website that houses all of the City’s Bill Runs, monthly, and Annual Treasurer Reports online.
• Broke the City’s Investment record in Fiscal Year 2023 and surpassed it again in Fiscal Year 2024, on track to be double last year’s record.
• Ended the practice of the Treasurer personally taking cash up to $80k to the bank by bringing on an Armored Car service.
• Hosted a number of Financial Fitness courses for the community and worked with city council to make this a part of the Treasurer’s duties via legislation.
• Provided the analysis to help fund the city’s Pensions without a Property Tax increase.

However, our work is far from complete. The coming years will bring new challenges and opportunities, and I am committed to continuing the progress we have made. I believe that by building on our successes and collaborating with the community, we can create a financially sound and prosperous North Chicago for generations to come.
